Long Riders! Episode 3 Review – “A New World”

Seems like the show was on a break last week or something. At any rate, how does Ami fare with her newfound cycling passion this week?

This episode continues with the same sort of gags. Ami freaks out over the price of biking shorts and biking skirts and Ami is lured in by the promise of food. She’s ready to take on Yabitsu Pass!

Don’t let her fool you. She’s actually a wolf looking to take all of Ami’s money. Cycling is expensive!

However, Ami messes up on hydration which causes her muscles to cramp up. As a result, the bike ride is cancelled. I appreciate that this happened since this is different from the previous two episodes. I was starting to see Ami as a lucky newbie who kept conquering the land. But now Yabitsu Pass has defeated Ami!

…Maybe this is the wrong genre haha. A-Anyways, Hinako and Aoi both worry that Ami will be discouraged from this setback, but their fears are misfounded.

The involuntary tears of frustration means Ami won’t give up!

Nevertheless, Aoi invites Ami to her family trip in order to cheer Ami up. While they’re there, however, they end up bumping into a mysterious cyclist who, in their words, is kind of amazing.

The face of an amazing person.

She does bear a striking resemblence to Aoi, though. Is it just me? Anyways, she manages to do a pretty good job selling the concepts of road bikes to Ami even though she’s perpetually broke. Just throw in the phrase “a new world” and Ami seems to fall for it hook, line, and sinker.

Like, imagine if she had her hair down. At least they have different hair colors.

I thought it was kind of funny that we didn’t get to see the rest of Aoi’s family even though they were on a family trip. But I digress.

Next week’s episode is titled, “A Secret Part-time Job.” Does Ami pick up a side job because she decided to invest in an expensive road bike? Does one of her friends have a secret part-time job? Will they bump into that amazing cyclist again? I guess we’ll find out! See you next week!

I-it's not like I want you to leave a comment or anything. B-baka.
