I Was Nominated for The Blogger Recognition Award!

It’s almost a week late, but D, sophiethestark, and Acacia Aurora all nominated me for this awesome award. You all should really check out their blogs! With a keen eye for detail, D reviews a large variety of series and is currently doing an episodic review series of Terror in Resonance. Sophie’s blog primarily consists of book reviews is a must-see if you’re a fan of literature. Actually, no, scratch that, you should see her blog even if you haven’t cracked open a book in years. Acacia Aurora is a relatively new blogger (well, so am I, haha) so you should go check out her posts about manga and anime and give her lots of love!

Remy Fool: The Origin

Why did I start up this yuri blog? Well, there’s a lot of reasons I could say here and most of them would sound pretty bad. I’ll spare you all my whole lifestory, though, and just say I needed an outlet that didn’t involve alcohol, wahaha.

It’s because I wanted to talk about shows. I wanted to talk about the episodes I’ve watched and the games I’ve played. But my friends and family aren’t into the stuff I watch or play, so what else was I to do besides start a blog?

What I’ve learned, however, is that blogging is so much more than just posting your opinion about this and that. You gotta communicate with others, too! Which brings me to the next section…

Two Flimsy Pieces of Advice

Interact with other bloggers! Look over their posts. Like the ones that tickle your fancy and comment with your thoughts. If someone drops by your blog, then all the more reason to do so! Give them as much love as they’re giving you (or more) since they were willing to give you a little bit of their time. Blogging in a vaccuum can only be so fun, after all. But if you’re talking with others about the shows you like, or reading about the shows they like, you might get to learn a few things, broaden your mindset, and make friends!

Don’t be afraid to experiment with different blogging styles! Find one that works for you! Maybe you run an anime blog but you don’t want to do the play-by-play for every episode of a show that’s currently airing. So why don’t you try writing about your impressions in regards to each episode? Heck, maybe you can refrain from commenting on individual episodes and you can just review series as you finish them. It’s up to you! Well, I’m saying all of this fluffy stuff, but I’m still trying things out, too. However, I don’t think there’s a single “optimal template” that everyone should use.

I know that’s not even close to 15 people but it said to nominate at least 15 people so I could have technically just nominated one person but that’s even lamer than what I’m already doing.

I tried my best not to nominate someone who was already nominated, but please forgive me if I messed up with your fist. If you don’t do blogger awards, then feel free to ignore this post and/or post lenny faces in the comments section or something. Go wild! It’s Tuesday! We need some craziness to get through the week.

That’s all for now, folks

  1. I’m sorry for only commenting now… This seems to be a recurrent thing with my WordPress and it’s so annoying >.<

Anyway, it's really interesting to see how most bloggers tend to start because they don't really have other people in their lives with the same tastes, and thus need to find them online. How easy it would be to just move them all together to the same place hahaha (no blogging then, I wonder?)

Your "flimsy" pieces of advice were just spot-on, and I have nothing more to add to them except: it works!

Thank you so much for all your support and for making my blog look so cool ^^

    1. Oh, don’t worry about it! ∩( ・ω・)∩
Haha, you bring up a good point. That might be the end of blogging as we know it, but we’d all be surrounded by like-minded people!
Thanks for giving my advice a thumbs-up!
Your blog is already cool so my support wasn’t even needed, really! c:

    1. Leafy, thank you! I’m glad you thought it was good advice. I know it took me a bit to realize, but I’m glad I started connecting with others. How else would I get to chat with great bloggers like you?

  2. Congratulations on the award!

It’s unfortunate that you can’t talk about your interests to people in real life but at least you have internet buddies! As for me, most of my friends watch anime but not the same genres that I like to watch.

    Thanks for nominating me~

    1. Thank you!
Mmmm the net is so handy when it comes to things like this.
Ah, that’s rough, too. At least they appreciate anime, though!
You’re very welcome~ looking forward to your post!

  3. Congrats and thanks for the nomination c:

Your advice was so flimsy I refuse to follow it! Not at all. Nopenope *talks a lot* *tends to be a flippant with blog posts*

Your origin story might have qualified for becoming a magical girl (not really) 😛 except the blog saved you 😛

Haha, oh you. But I for one like your style! Hopefully you do a better job writing advice! The blogging newbies better listen to Professor Alane!
Hmmm more like a villain since I was basically in despair, but the blog stopped me in time, yay!
(I’d rather be a magical girl, though)

    1. AY! You right bout getting nominated.
No jetting out of this one!

I wish your senpai was a girl. He can no longer get away with dressing like one, either.

It’s okay, you’re still good. Because every time I read those lines my heart is set ablaze yet again 🔥 👌

  4. An outlet not involving alcohol is always good. I’m sure your liver appreciates it a lot.

I was confused af on how to do posts in the beginning. Do I do episodics or series reviews? What can I do with my site so that it won’t be just another generic aniblog? In the end, i just winged it and stuff happened. I’m still figuring things out. So yeah, agreed that experimenting is a good idea.

    1. It probably does. I’ve haven’t been drinking as much since Trump became head honcho, though (head honcho is so redundant, but I love it).
Mmm I’m glad we both agree on that. People gotta experiment and find out what’s works for them!

    2. I did notice you had the words “another anime blog” and such in your about as I wrote this post. I wouldn’t say you’re running a generic blog by any means so you avoided that tragic fate!

    1. I-it’s not like I wanted to nominate you, either, hmphhh. I just wanted to hear your shelf creak as you struggle to add yet another award. There was no helping it, okay?

(I have another award that I need to answer in kind, but it’s 3 am and I need to sleep at least a little before work. I-it’s not like I’m thinking of nominating you for that one, too. But…it’s coming for you soon).
