The holiday episode is a staple for slice-of-life shows!
(Spoilers in this review)
And unfortunately for Raphiel (and, to a lesser extent, Satania) fans, Vigne and Gabriel dominate this episode while the other two play supporting roles. Oh, well, you can’t win ’em all. Raphiel still has some marvelous faces in this episode, however, so yay.
There’s not much to say besides the fact that this week’s episode was more of the usual for Gabriel DropOut, really.
The episode was split into three parts. The first part happens during Christmas Eve (which is actually more important than the actual day of Christmas in Japan for some reason). Vigne attempts to make Satania overlook the fact that Christmas is supposed to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ through distractions, but she resorts to force once Satania realizes the significance of Christmas day.
Now who could this be? Also, Raphi is so good at being at a meme.Satania declaring war against Christmas.Vigne is on the warpath!Vignette sets her plan in motion! The final temptation! The distraction is successful!I still can’t believe Satania falls for Raphiel’s schemes.Raphiel’s inner sadist manifests! This episode had fun with Vignette reaction faces, too.“It was an accident.”Satania eats the edible Santa cake decoration.“We just need to replace it with a substitute.”Raphiel sure is having her way with Vignette and Satania.Satania decorates the cake!Raphiel’s intentional slip of the tongue is what finally causes Satania to remember her unholy crusade. The recollection is complete! However, Vignette won’t let Satania ruin her Christmas party.Gabriel arrives to see this interesting sight.“Eh? What about Satania? Is something the matter?”Satania declaring she’ll take over the world one day. In your dreams, maybe, demon girl. However, Vignette has had enough!“It was an accident.”“If you want to receive presents, then follow my instructions and become a good girl.”As a result, Satania starts acting like a three-year-old. Raphi is into baby play, too, huh?
The second part of the episode has the group visiting a shrine to celebrate New Years’ Eve. The four girls get to experience human culture and customs fo themselves and all is basically well – until Gabriel gets drunk off amakaze (the fermented rice drink that’s either non-alcoholic or low-alcoholic).
Raphiel getting turned on by the idea of visiting a shrine of another god.Vignette rescues Gabriel from the bustling crowd. Things would have turned bad if she was in there for 3 more seconds.Satania’s imagination running wild once again.Vignette stops Gabriel from cheating at the lottery.“Oh, yeah, sorry for wasting your lottery ticket. Here’s some amakaze.”ENTER DRUNK GABRIEL“Dude, I’m totally sober.”
The last segment has the girls visiting home. Gabriel and Raphiel is bound for Heaven while Vigne and Satania is headed towards Hell. Gabriel attempts to dress up in order to sneak games into Heaven, but things don’t really work out.
Oh, my Dark Lord, Vignette’s outfit is so cute. While the other girls have dressed up, Gabriel has donned her old Angel School uniform. Perhaps it signifies that she has no presentable clothes? That she’s the most immature? Or maybe I’m thinking too much again.Ehhh I thought Heaven and Hell were further apart than that. The two angels show up at the customs checkpoint… only to find that Satania followed them. The demon terrorist is apprehended.Raphiel passes the inspection. Gabriel, however, first loses her portable gaming device. Then she tries to convince the guy that this Blu-ray player is a pancake griddle. No go.Last up is her laptop. Unfortunately for Gabriel, the guy still confiscates the device.Meanwhile Vignette is being a true friend and has come to fetch Satania. They apologize over and over. But the real question is when do they get to eat the katsudon?
The Vigne reaction faces were perfect this episode. This was an enjoyable read Remy 🙂

They were “pretty choice,” as my real life cohorts would say.
Thanks, Prattle ❤
