There’s something about this show. Yes, it’s flooded with characters that are consistently flat and frequently off-model. Yes, the songs the main band (aka Poppin’ Party) play are kind of bland. But the instrumental OST has been on-point and I consistently feel emotional invested during these last few episodes. I guess Saaya is just better written as a character compared to the other four or something.
The episode as a whole, however, goes as expected. A few moments of yuri shiptease and festival antics. Saaya angsts about not being able to join the school festival because she feels obligated to look over her mom (who suffered another dizzy spell and is thus staying in the hospital). Saaya is convinced to run to the school after hearing Kasumi’s voicemails and reading the lyrics that was inside an envelope Kasumi left in her house. Saaya bumps into her old bandmates and they all find a little closure. Saaya plays drums like a prodigy despite being rusty and makes their second song amazing.
But of course, there’s more drama coming up. The old granny is planning on shutting down the venue for reasons unknown. Find out next week!
The show IS very sparkly, you’re right. Kind of balanced out by all the off-model faces though wahaha.
Right? Well there was a moment when she swung and lost control of a drumstick but she caught it like a pro and continued playing. High school girls are impressive!
Is it just the screencaps or is this show very, very sparkly?
I’m impressed she can drum like a pro despite being rusty. I forgot both driving and swimming after not doing them for a while.
