Nyanko Days – Anime Series Review

Episodes: 12

Genre(s): Slice-of-life, Comedy

Aired: Jan 2017 to Mar 2017

Also known as: にゃんこデイズ

Summary: Konagai Tomoko is a shy first-year student in high school who owns three (anthropomorphic) cats: the cheerful and lively Munchkin Maa, the smart and strait-laced Russian Blue Rou, and the gentle crybaby Singapura Shii. One day Tomoko befriends a classmate named Shiratori Azumi, who also loves cats. Be prepared to sit through a cute and fluffy comedy depicting the daily life of Tomoko and her cats, Tomoko and Azumi’s friendship, and the interactions between cats.

I’m reviewing this series like how I reviewed most of its episodes. Hang tight.
To be honest, I’m not sure why I even reviewed this show week after week.
There’s nothing meaningful to be found here. I wish I was exaggerating.
Sure, the girls and the little cats are cute. I’ll give it that.
But that’s gotta be more than just that since cute characters is widespread these days.
There’s definitely some yuri vibes, so my initial senses weren’t wrong at least.
The OP is also quite catchy and makes me smile. I just make sure to wear headphones.
By the way, who’s your favorite cat? I like Shii.
It wouldn’t be a slice-of-life show if there’s no latecomer character. Double negative.
Oh! Ponytails are my weakness. But that’s not enough to change my opinion of this show.
There are also instances of slipshod animation. Well, each episode is only 2 minutes long…
If you must watch this series, save it for a bad day. 24 minutes of diabetes might help?

Nyanko is love!

If you want to invest significantly more than 24 minutes of your life into cute catgirls (12 episodes x 2 minutes per episode = 24 minutes) and want full-sized girls who have cat ears, go play Neko Paradise or something. There’s two visual novels currently out (three if you include the fandisc) with a third official game due to come out soon (estimates are currently aiming for an April 2017 release). NekoPara is also set to receive an OVA late 2017, so yay?

    1. There definitely is, probably. That’s beyond me, though.

Despite my harsh review I thought it was a fun show and I don’t regret watching the collective half hour of content.

        1. I totally understand that predicament. It’s impressive that Nyanko Days can present such a challenge, actually.

I’ll be giving that post a look over very soon!

  1. You gotta give them credit for beating the boring biker girls.

I shall keep this in mind for a bad day and meanwhile try not to link cutesy cat-children to BDSM because yes, Remy, I still remember that post you linked.

    1. It is definitely something to keep in mind. Hey, I should have referred to that show as boring biking babes! You deserve the credit for that one since I just thought of it as I looked at your comment.

That sounds like a solid plan!

Hehe as do I. Sorry to taint your perception of this show.

I-it's not like I want you to leave a comment or anything. B-baka.
