Tsurezure Children Episode 8 Review

(Spoilers in this review)

Some pairings are getting a lot more consistent screentime compared to other couples. While I do like most of the couples that benefit from this lopsided balance, there were some cameos of couples that have so far been neglected in this episode and remembering their absence was a tough pill to swallow (well, one deadpan couple is likely to show up later given that the scene in which they initially appear was included in this week’s episode).

The first part had Takeru, a jock who means well yet is a bit bad at communication, and Ayaka, who really likes her boyfriend yet holds herself back (she’s also really skilled at making ugly crying look good). Takeru reveals that he would like Ayaka to be more clingy and selfish to her delight. Despite his clumsiness when it comes to talking about feelings and such, Takeru was kind of cool and the couple shared their first kiss as a direct result of his actions. However, Ayaka accidentally coughed while they were kissing, oh no!

The couple that is probably the most popular among viewers make their appearance once again. Kana is still expecting Chiaki to take the lead and kiss her, but Chiaki continues to struggle with actually doing that. He does make an earnest attempt, but the awkward positioning led to him kissing her nose instead! They also attempted a do-over, but they noticed that some schoolmates were watching. As a result, they backed down.

Fuck Akagi Masafumi. Fuck him for playing little mindgames with Ryouko. Manipulative forceful men are not to my liking.

LOVE MASTER RETURNS

It’s understandable that some couples get the short end of the stick simply because there’s not enough time in each episode to focus on every couple. Be that as it may, any episodes featuring Akagi Masafumi is simply not as fun due to his distasteful behavior. The fact that he (and Ryouko but she’s not really to blame here, probably) continues to pop up while some other couples or characters are neglected is starting to upset me, but I’m aware that some people probably like Akagi Masafumi and thus are satisfied. And I am indeed mostly satisfied with Tsurezure Children since it remains a funny and naturalistic show week after week. But fuck Akai Masafumi.
