I’m still bingewatching Cardcaptor Sakura. But at least I got Devilman Crybaby out of the way, yeah? Well, saying I “got it out of the way” implies that the series was not enjoyable to watch. In some ways it wasn’t and in some ways it was. I personally didn’t think it was senseless violence and nudity, but what do I know?
I might end up becoming too busy to properly blog starting in February. But I hope not. I’m already feeling the pressure to put out content that pertains to seasonal anime. That’s probably one of the reasons why I published that weekly round-up post a few hours earlier and claimed it’ll be a regular feature. Time will tell.
What I do know is that I will have to be less wordy in that weekly feature. I have to analyze which elements work for a series or an episode and what doesn’t. That’s what the great anibloggers do, in my opinion. They at least try to analyze what’s going on and are able to coherently articulate their own opinions. They also are able to bring hypotheticals to the table and suggest things a series could have done or avoided in order to be “better.” Even though “better” is subjective as most things in life. Furthermore, these sort of “what-if” statements are inherently subjective and can be incredibly flawed.
But the attempt, the drive to improve is nice. It shows that they’re not just passive viewers and are always looking to engage with the media they consume. It’s admirable. It’s, dare I say it, radiant.
All of this is just babble, admittedly. I’ve been up for about 24 hours, excluding an involuntary nap that lasted for less than an hour, so I feel a bit loopy. More light-headed than usual. Haha.
I’ll cut this status update a bit short for this week. Back to Cardcaptor Sakura.
