My Favorite Ships in Yuru Yuri

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of Yuru Yuri, there’s gonna be an OVA!

And in celebration of the OVA, I’m going to be sharing my favorite/favourite Yuru Yuri ships!

Please bear in mind that these ships are just my opinion and I don’t mean any offense towards anyone who prefer different ships. This is supposed to be a fun post!

Alright, here we go!

Oomuro Sakurako x Furutani Himawari

Most fans will agree that this is the pairing which must be canon. Childhood friends who were previously sweet towards each other but now are fighting tooth ‘n’ nail like an old married couple seals the deal for me.

All of that violent sexual tension is only made more juicy by the fact that both girls really do care for the other in their own awkward ways.

Sugiura Ayano x Funami Yui

LOOK I KNOW THIS SHIP IS GOING TO BE VERY CONTROVERSIAL SINCE MOST FANS EITHER SHIP KYOUKO WITH AYANO OR KYOUKO WITH YUI

BUT YUI AND AYANO ARE SO ALIKE AND AWKWARD TOGETHER SO I JUST LOVE IT

THINK BACK TO S1E7 WHEN THEY JUST CHILLED IN THE PARK AND TALKED

TIME JUST FLEW BY FOR THEM SINCE THEY’RE TOO SIMILAR

JUST KIDDING IT WAS SUPER AWKWARD WHICH IS GREAT

AND THEN THERE WAS THE PUN BATTLE IN S3E11

DON’T FORGET HOW THEY WERE COAXED INTO PRETENDING THEY WERE SISTERS IN A MANGA CHAPTER THANKS TO MASTERMIND KYOUKO

I’M GOING TO GET FLAMED SO MUCH BECAUSE OF THIS BUT I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL

Akaza Akari x Yoshikawa Chinatsu

Okay, their first (and only) kiss back in S1E5 was very problematic considering how Chinatsu forces herself on Akira.

However, the two do go on a cute date later on (I think it was only in the manga and wasn’t shown in the anime, but I could be wrong). Of course, Chinatsu once again claims it was for practice once she manages to ask Yui out and initially treats the date as such, but then she clarifies that they did enough practicing and that she wanted to have a date with Akarin actually acting as Akarin. Awwww.

To be honest, Chinatsu has really toned down by season 3 compared to her crazy self in earlier seasons (it must be due to the power of friendship). If she were to start acting psychotic again, however, Akarin would do a pretty good job containing Chinatsu’s wild side, I think. Well, Yui would probably do a better job but she already belongs to Ayano, muahahaha.

Toshinou Kyouko x Ikeda Chizuru

Chizuru is just a hardcore tsundere.

Ikeda Chitose x Fantasy

This is basically canon.

I still have no idea about Nadeshiko’s girlfriend

Namori-sensei, please let us know. Or at least give us some good hints. We’ve been kept in suspense for so long…
